About Gary Jader
For over 30 years, I’ve worked closely with leadership teams in both early-stage companies and Fortune 100 organizations.
Most recently, I served as Chief Marketing Officer for a fast-growing company, helping guide strategy, positioning, and growth.
Earlier in my career, I ran my own ideation consulting practice for more than ten years, helping organizations of all sizes think creatively about the future — new products, new services, and new possibilities.
Those years taught me something important.
Ideas are rarely the problem.
Companies are actually very good at generating ideas.
What they often struggle with is something much harder:
Getting the leadership team aligned.
Aligned on priorities.
Aligned on strategy.
Aligned on the message they bring to the market — both internally and externally.
When that alignment breaks down, things start to drift.
The strategy may be sound.
The team may be talented.
But execution slows, messaging gets muddy, and momentum fades.
Over time, I found myself spending less time helping companies invent ideas and more time helping them close the gap between strategy, leadership, and execution.
That work became the foundation for Closing the Gap Now.
Today, I work with leadership teams to clarify priorities, challenge assumptions, sharpen messaging, and ensure the organization is truly moving in the same direction.
Because when leadership teams are aligned, everything works better.

When Leadership Teams Reach Out
Often the first thing they mention is the website.
“It just doesn’t feel right.”
“It’s not telling our story.”
“We’ve redesigned it twice and it’s still not working.”
But the website is rarely the real issue.
The strategy may be sound.
The team may be capable.
Yet execution feels harder than it should.
Often the real issue isn’t the idea.
It’s alignment.
The Problems I Help Solve
Leadership teams interpreting priorities differently.
Strategy that sounds good in meetings but stalls in execution.
Marketing that feels right internally but doesn’t resonate externally.
Teams working hard but pulling in slightly different directions.
Messaging that doesn’t clearly communicate the company’s value.
What Happens When Teams Align
Decisions become faster.
Messaging becomes clearer.
Marketing and sales reinforce each other.
Teams move in the same direction.
Execution becomes easier.
Misalignment is the silent killer of executive action.
What Leaders are Saying
“Gary has a rare ability to capture what’s truly unique about a person or organization—and express it clearly and powerfully. When I read his work about our company, something in me said, ‘That’s right.’”
Bill Mills, President, The Executive Group
“It’s rare to look back and pinpoint the moment a company breaks through. For us, that moment led to a $975 million valuation ten years later—and Gary Jader was at the center of it. He helped our leadership team develop the organizing vision that aligned product and marketing after a decade of trying. Gary has a unique ability to draw out the best ideas—and put the right words to them.”
Jeff Sweet, President, Identifix
